Carpigiani has been providing gelato service and equipment to both Europe and US for over 70 years. At its most recent show, the brand wanted to communicate its longevity in the marketplace, but also the versatility of its products in the food industry. Nimlok Chicago designed a 20x30 island exhibit to creatively showcase the brand’s capabilities in a variety of retail environments.
To showcase the brand’s equipment in multiple settings, the design called for a “shop within a shop” concept for the exhibit. Each corner of the space was made into a different retail theme: the first corner was a bakery, the second was a grab-and-go kiosk, the third was a pizza shop, and the fourth was a coffee shop. Each corner came with its own special menu item that reflected its theme—such as gelato affogato in the coffee shop—that were given as samples to visitors.
While the overall structure was no more than eight feet in height, Nimlok incorporated a hanging sign over the booth to point attendees in the right direction. Carpigiani relied on Nimlok Chicago’s in-house graphic design services to enhance its in-booth experience. Custom menus, backlit wall graphics, and strategic messaging embellished the space and set it apart from the numerous other exhibits on the show floor.
